This exclusive event will showcase the emergence of an exciting new European broadcasting technology, featuring a series of live 5G Broadcast demonstrations delivered directly to mobile handsets from a high-rise transmitter in downtown Brussels.
Participants will have the chance to experience hands-on demos with a range of devices from three to four leading smartphone manufacturers – the first time that multiple broadcast network operators from across Europe have come together to present different 5G Broadcast demonstrations in this way.
Demonstrations of the use of 5G broadcast in typical mobile broadcasting use cases will be complemented by examples of emergency warning applications and seamless broadcast/ broadband network switching.
The evening will also see the launch of a comprehensive new report “5G Broadcast – Horizons for Europe”, which will provide a detailed review of the technology, an assessment of its benefits for European citizens and stakeholders, and the requirements for making this innovation a reality within the EU.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the program and engage directly with senior experts more informally during a networking reception.
This event is organised by Broadcast Networks Europe, with the valued technical support of Media Broadcast and Belgian Tower Company, and contributions from leading broadcast network operators across Europe.
